School Grounds Coffee in Daufuskie Island

Best latte I had in weeks, and a delicious slice of cake. A great spot for an afternoon caffeine jolt after exploring Dafuski. And lovely staff who is kind and helpful.

Not open. We walked all the way from Melrose landing and it was closed due to the pandemic. Understandable but then put a notice on your website indicating this!

Excellent coffee. Walk up window and Brian was diligent with social distancing between us an another customer who walked up on us. He also helped us out with directions to a public restroom!

Unfortunately, this establishment was closed when I visited the island due to covid19. My wife and I took our first trip to daufuskie Island last weekend. I called school grounds to verify business hours so we could go get coffee our first morning there. The owner answered the phone to inform us they were currently closed. I expressed my disappointment that we had not brought any coffee for our trip and the owner personally brought us some delicious coffee grounds to our vacation rental home! It literally saved our trip. We will definitely be returning to vacation on the island and definitely visiting this establishment! Excellent service!

Definitely a must visit place at Daufuskie Island! It is a historic school house that they are using as a coffee shop in the back and a dye shop in the front. It also has a playground for any kids who are not yet coffee drinkers. The coffe was wonderful and strong! We will certainly be regulars here while we are on the island!

Definitely a great place to go get a nice cup of coffee and definitely has the awesome chill local vibe. Brian is very friendly and makes a great mocha frappe. Definitely will see them again!

Outstanding frappuccino! Awesome service, and great prices. Will be back to Schhol Grounds tomorrow for a repeat.

This was my 14 yr old son’s favorite spot! Their baked goods are to-die-for delicious, and their frappes & iced coffees always hit the spot! My 12 yr old son told them, “If I was old enough to have a phone, I’d give y’all 5 stars!” Thanks for such great goodies and such great customer service-the best on the island!

There were ladies showing the process to make indigo due. The school room used by the author of 'The Prince of Tides', Pat Conroy. The the coffee shop offered wonderful drink choices.

Felt like I made a friend with the owner operator Bryan after just a few minutes of chat. The coffee was so incredible too. I wasn’t expecting it to be good on the island where the supply chain is tough, but it was simply the best coffee, drinks, and cookies we had in months. Will now be a return customer when visiting.
